Thank you to everyone who called David McFarland requesting that the Wisconsin wolf hunt be closed before the quota is breached. We have been contacted by Mr. McFarland who wanted to thank us, as it’s the first time he’s received so many calls and said every single one was respectful and courteous. This is how we influence public policy. Phone calls are no longer necessary as the sheer volume is distracting him from addressing wolf and other carnivore issues. We are building a beneficial relationship with DNR and want to preserve it as much as possible!

I just want to say thank you to the Wolf Patrol, for monitoring the hunt in WI especially in the NW woods of WI with hounds. Your work is invaluable, and I am convinced it had a great bearing on this closure because these hounders seem to have no respect for rules and regulations. SSS (shoot shovel and shutup) seems to be the rule of thumb in the woods, because the DNR can not possibly monitor the “goings on” they are short staffed, and their funding has been cut to the bone.

HOORAY. I feel hope for the first time, for the wolves, because you are starting this wolf patrol, and because people like MacFarland listen.
